My lifelong consuming interest in computers has taken me from programmer/analyst to software engineer. From cards (Globe form 5081) to the cloud. From Fortran II, assembly, Fortran IV, Cobol, Forth, C/C++, and eventually Python.
Experience has taught me that writing software that is portable makes the best use of marketing opportunities, so I use open source languages, mostly on open source platforms, and of course my Mac.
I study every day and continuously learn things that surprise me. Unexpected was the amazing amount of information at my fingertips from Google and a few choice programmer hangouts.
My intent is to share observations and thoughts about the contemporary software environment, and of course the Internet.
